“A laboratory is a facility that provides safe conditions in which research and experiments may be performed.” We will make use of that definition and establish a safe space throughout this morning challenge where we are accepted as individual human beings with our boundaries, needs and inner landscapes in order to heal and refuel.

You will deepen your understanding of yin yoga asanas and explore their healing power through your body and mind in an individual and playful way. You will broaden your knowledge of yin yoga and its relation to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Also, you will feel and understand the difference between a yin and a yang approach to specific asanas. And eventually, you will learn all the basics required to sequence your very own asana practice adapted to your personal needs.

The 5 elements of yin yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine will serve us as a frame. Small theoretical inputs will be integrated on a somatic level through the sensational and emotional exploration of the effects of the asanas. In addition, you can compare the experiences of yin and yang qualities.

week 1
Each day will be dedicated to one of the five elements. We will then work with that element in our practice which will also be activating bits and pieces. Every element approaches specific meridians (energy lines) and includes particular soul topics which will be mainly focused throughout the asanas.

week 2
The more playful part of the challenge starts where you will gradually learn how to sequence your own yin yoga practice. Self-exploration and study, soul music and small group discussions as an opportunity to learn from each other, will be part of this week. We will also take a look at the concept of Yin and Yang and apply that to specific asanas in order for you to understand the difference in bringing it to your yoga mat.

*yellow yoga will be recording this morning challenge. The recording will be available to watch for 48h. The recording won´t be available for download and will be deleted after 48h. By registering for this morning challenge you agree to b recorded and accept that the recording will be sent out to all the yogis who join this morning challenge.

Yanina Prenzlau has been fascinated with the body since more than 30 years now. Being a sports scientist (graduate from the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln), she has in-depth knowledge of the body’s structure like its muscles, anatomy and performance abilities and capabilities. But ever since being a Yoga Teacher she has truly understood that there is much more to the body than only its structure – there is the breath which can open up new horizons underneath the skin, there is the body awareness that can change the way you feel inside and there is the natural body intelligence which you can listen to in order to sense your boundaries and thus also what you really need and want.
As a trainer in (critical) political education she is very aware of the different histories and experiences our bodies and minds have been involved in throughout our life. This is why she aims at creating a safe space for every human being in order to fully unfold and feel welcome. She has started a training in systemic body therapy and has been on the path of shamanic practices for a while now. Yin Yoga has paved the path of truly going into a conversation with one’s inner worlds – may they be spiritually flavored or very down to earth.
