Yoga and its background of Vedanta philosophy give us powerful tools to enjoy more emotional well-being in daily life. Although ancient, this wisdom remains hugely beneficial for bringing clarity and balance to modern-day life.

It’s easy to feel constantly caught in the push and pull of thoughts, feelings and reactions. Yoga is essentially a practice of awareness; the recognition that where we choose to place our attention has a direct and immediate effect on how we feel, and therefore on how we respond to life. The quality of our attention lays the foundation for the quality of all of our experiences.

With regular practice and the right tools, we become more able to be present, find easeful space around thoughts, recognise cognitive patterns and view them with a relaxed objectivity. We discover how to directly influence our well-being, efficiency and joy on a daily basis.

This course is designed for anyone who feels ready to explore the deeper meaning of yoga and meditation. Longer, 2-hour classes give us plenty of time for a full physical yoga practice and deep relaxation, as well as an exploration of philosophical themes and meditation.

In these six weeks we will practise:

– gentle, energising yoga and breathwork
– meditation for more mental calm
– enquiring into thought patterns and what effect they have
– breaking the habitual pattern between stimulus and reaction
– mindfulness techniques and basic cognitive psychology (CBT)
– getting more comfortable with emotions
– enjoying a deeper appreciation of everyday life

Everyone is welcome to join, with or without prior experience. Feel free to write to us with your questions.
