Stefanie’s journey into Yoga began in 2005 when she discovered the profound and vital intelligence of the body through meditation. All of her yoga classes are geared toward connecting with this intelligence and allowing it grow in our consciousness. She is indebted to her influential teachers. Steve Davis at Samadhi Yoga in Seattle, USA, whose austere practice was an early model for her own, and Deborah Bagg at Yogamaya New York, who became her guide in the fine arts of receptivity, sensitivity, and softness. She completed her 200hr training at Yogamaya New York in 2013, and received certification in the Yin method from Corina Benner at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York in 2016.

Stefanie’s vinyasa classes aim to be both challenging and accessible, with emphasis on alignment, breath and cultivating awareness of one’s own body and edge. The spirit of the breath is celebrated in dynamic, heat-building sequences and balanced with periods of release, introspection and integration.

In this class, we explore the practice of deep listening, developing the ears as a tool for expanding consciousness. The rich harmonic overtones of Tibetan singing bowls transcend the 12-tone scale of modern Western music and connect us to something deep and primal; they have the power to summon our collective, ancestral memory and re-align us with the unbiased essence of ourselves. Using a combination of tones across the frequency spectrum, we will experience sound as both a tool for meditation and a source of deep relaxation and healing. Additional meditation techniques such as visualization, mantra, breath awareness and silence will also be incorporated.
