Julia is a Yin Yoga and Vinyasa teacher based in Berlin. She tried many career paths before finding her home in teaching Yoga. She was a caretaker, bartender and host, cultural scientist, food-truck-co-founder and personal assistant. All these paths influence the way she holds space and welcome people to her classes today. Towards the end of my twenties, she started to feel more and more lost and like a bystander in her own life. Trying to do everything at once and to exceed in it, she exhausted herself and realized that she was in a state of constant improvisation, always on the outside and with little sense of self and no stability. Yoga helped her to center and ground herself and explore her true needs, desires and potential. Now she is trying to live a more simple life from a perception of fullness. To chase less, and build more from within. It was a long and interesting journey from my first experiences of Yogapractice 15 years ago, to finally becoming a teacher myself. She did her teacher training with Spirit Yoga in 2018. Two years later she became a certified Yin Yoga teacher with Valerie Hartwich and Liina Tael.
Vinyasa – en
Vinyasa is characterized by vitalizing, blanced interconnected movements, mobilizing all parts of the body. Engaging and stretching deep muscle structures at the same time, it builds a strong and flexible physique. Dynamic asanas are linked with conscious breathing to sharpen your focus and anchor you, whilst also softening the body and mind. Each sequence starts with a warm up and ends with a cool down and a final meditation, Savasana. Instead of fixed cues, I offer vocal illustrations and focus points as suggestions to guide you safely. Pauses are for calming the nervous system and reflecting on your practice
Yin-Yoga – en
In Yin we work on the same meridians as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Poses are held 3 -5 minutes, stretching the fascial tissue, supporting the regeneration and self healing properties of the body. When the stress of the stretch is over, the fascia releases and an overall deep relief can take place.Yin Yoga is a simple practice, but not an easy one. In the stillness of the pose we are confronted with thoughts and internalised behaviours in the face of discomfort. To stay present and to meet the challenge with equanimity is the actual heart of this practice.
