Victoria Simpson, spent many years in India for growth and inspiration. Guided by her teacher in the Himalayan foothills, she has attended and co-taught intensive yoga courses, immersing herself in practices and the yogic life.

With over 600 hours of training in Akhanda Hatha Yoga and 150 hours in Yin Yoga, Victoria has developed a rich toolkit of insights and techniques. Recently completing her Intermediate Year in Somatic Experiencing, she brings a trauma-sensitive, somatic lens to her teaching, weaving in core principles from SE. Her approach encourages curiosity, empowers personal agency, and invites students to relate to themselves in new, compassionate ways.

Victoria teaches Yin Yoga because she believes in the importance of creating space for rest and ease in a fast-paced world that often pushes us to our limits. She’s passionate about guiding others to slow down, settle into more quiet and still moments, and build the capacity to yield with openness—whether to moments of softness or to the more challenging experiences we may encounter.

Victoria’s introspective nature often reflects in her Yin Yoga classes, where she teaches the art of stillness and listening, often weaving in poems and insightful writings that have inspired her. Yin Yoga is a passive, meditative style of yoga where asanas are held openly and relaxed for extended periods. This practice affects the connective tissues, promoting joint health, and influences the meridian system, enhancing the flow of Chi, which has an energizing and harmonizing effect. This yoga class takes practitioners on an inward journey, away from today’s extreme Yang culture, into a gentler, quieter space. Yin Yoga offers valuable lessons that can be integrated into everyday life.

This yoga class features a moderate sequence of the most familiar and accessible yogic postures and breathing techniques, suitable for students with little or no experience. The sequence includes all movements of the spine and all posture types (seated, standing, supine, prone, inversions, and balance postures), for which Victoria also offers variations. The class introduces the basic principles of alignment, breath, sound, yoga philosophy, and relaxation. Simple Pranayama exercises and practical concentration and meditation techniques are taught. Students are guided to move with the breath and use it as an impulse for movement. This level aims to balance flexibility and strength, cleanse the body to achieve a natural state of health, and develop awareness on both physical and energetic levels.
